People don't change.

Tynan sat down under a tree, the boy inspecting the bruises on his knees. "Momma's going to kill me." He pouted.

Christian laughed and plopped down under the tree beside Tynan. "It's your fault, you're the one who started the fight between you and that one kid... Whose name I don't remember."

"Noooo, HE started it!" The little vampire pouted, huffing and folding his arms over his chest. "He said I was stupid... Which I'm not."

Christian shook his head then slapped Tynan's shoulder gently, getting up and running off.

"NOT FAIR!" Tynan called after Christian, stumbling to his feet and chasing the young werewolf.

It had been several years since 'the incident', Christian could remember Tynan saying they would make a land of their own, where vampires and werewolves could live in peace. Back then, Christian was the one to always tell Tynan it would never work. Now it was the other way around...

Tynan growled. "Every day you come to me with smiles, asking for it to be as it was. It won't Christian, get that through that thick ass skull of yours." The vampire went into his kitchen, opening the refrigerator and getting out a bottle of preserved blood, opening it and taking a long swig.

"You don't know that!" Christian sighed, following Tynan. "People change, Tynan. Who knows, they might have forgotten about it."

"People don't change, they get either dumber or smarter.My people will never forget something like that. Just go home Christian. You're wasting your time." Tynan took another swig, walking right past the werewolf.

"You've changed." Christian retorted with a heavy sigh. "What happened to that happy boy who used to tell stories of what we would do once the vampires and the werewolves were once together again?"

"He got smarter, as I said: People don't change." Tynan opened his door. "Out."

Brown eyes looked to stone gray, trying to find a hint of that boy he was once friends with. Christian saw nothing. He let out one last sigh before making his way out the door.
